Choosing a Tattoo Design to Have For Life
Arm tattoos must be chosen with great care. When you go to your local tattoo parlor, be sure to ask to look through their designs. If you hang around for a while, you may see other people there with tattoos on their arms. This will give you a good idea of what tattoos on the arm look like and also how they move. The arm is one area which may be more visible than other areas of your body where you may get a tattoo. For example, a discreet tattoo on your back, stomach or butt will not be seen by everyone you meet – hopefully! But if you wear a sleeveless top over the summer, or a top with sheer sleeves, then your tattoo will be seen and noticed by everyone.
Do not forget that your tattoo will not feel like anything after a while. You will probably forget you have a tattoo on a day-to-day basis, so it is incredibly important that you choose your tattoo very wisely. The last thing you want to hear are gasps of shock when you take your sweater off on a sunny day and the full glory of your arm tattoo is revealed to the rest of the sun bathing public.
There are many types of tattoo which are suitable for your arm. There are single, small designs which can be used on the upper arm. Examples of these can be small flowers such as roses, stars, or small animals. The animals themselves can be little ladybirds, birds, dolphins, bunnies. Any small tasteful design can be used.
Another type of design which is very popular with both men and women is the Celtic band or Maori-style band around the upper arm. This is a beautiful random design, often symmetrical and can be a narrow small design, or can be extended and added to with time to make it a significant symbol on your arm. Many people have one arm done and then the other. This actually looks like an upper arm bracelet and can have a very stunning effect with both evening wear and during the day.
Finally, some people also have a full design on their arm. Popular styles with young men are sometimes beautiful women’s faces, or dragons, or popular iconic figures and symbolism. These can also be quite stunning and eye catching. It is important to think these through very carefully. For one thing they can be painful and expensive. They may need to be done in several sittings. Also, if for any reason they need to be removed because the wearer is tired of them, or they have become a high profile businessman and a picture of a woman riding a dragon on their arm would be highly unsuitable, then they can be costly and painful to remove.
An internet search on google images can bring up a lovely selection of pictures to have transferred onto an arm. It is best to choose wisely. Print some of the pictures out and see how they look. Wear them for a while and see if you grow tired of them. Above all, be careful. Take some advice from friends and family if you are not sure. It never hurts to get a second opinion, but it really hurts to get a bad tattoo removed!
