The Worst Places to get a Tattoo

The placement of a tattoo is very important. Where you decide to get your tattoo put on yourself will determine how the ink takes, how the tattoo will heal, how painful the tattooing process will be, and how the tattoo will retain its bright colors. This is why it is extremely important to know all the facts when you are deciding on the placement of a tattoo.

The worst places to get a tattoo are on your face, hands, and feet. The reason the face and hands are a bad place is due to the fact that it is always exposed to direct sunlight. The sun acts as a bleaching agent to your tattoo. The ink will become lighter and your tattoo will become faded much faster. Also, your hands are a bad choice due to their constant movement. This makes your new tattoo heal much slower. There is also a greater risk for infection since your hands are exposed to numerous germs and bacteria all day long.

Your feet are a bad choice for tattoo placement due to their thinner, more sensitive skin. This makes a foot tattoo one of the most painful tattoos to receive. A foot tattoo also takes a bit longer to heal. They are prone to not taking the ink as well as most other tattoos; this can cause a less than perfect tattoo after it heals. You will have to be careful with your new foot tattoo, you don’t want to wear socks or shoes for awhile after receiving your tattoo, yet you will want to keep the area clean. This makes it difficult to live your day to day life while your new foot tattoo is healing. Some tattoo artists will actually charge extra to do a foot tattoo, others may tell you upfront that future touch ups will not be free as they generally are with other tattoos.

I have it on my chest and I have to agree with the first comment. I also have few on my arms, back and leg but the chest was the strongest. I have a big cross over my heart.
